Nate Monson
 graduated from Clarke College (Dubuque, IA) in 2007 with a BA in History. He has worked extensively on several political
and organizational campaigns. Nate’s extensive political work includes the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC), Planned Parenthood Action Fund, Grassroots Solutions, Iowa Democratic Party, and several Iowa races. 
Currently, Nate is the Executive Director of Iowa Safe Schools, which is a coalition of educators, civil rights and LGBT advocates, in partnership with the Iowa Civil Rights Commission. In this role, Nate is working to create safer schools and communities for LGBT youth through public awareness, education, and policy. 

Since joining Iowa Safe Schools in 2007, Nate developed the only proven statewide training model for teachers, principals, parents, and youth-serving professionals on LGBT students.  He speaks to approximentally 2,500 individuals per year and presents at national, regional, and statewide conferences.  In addition to his role at Iowa Safe Schools, Nate serves on a number of community and state coalition boards.
