LGBTQ Books are Important!

The Iowa Safe Schools’ Affirming Resource Library is a resource of collected literature for all ages of the LGBTQ or ally community. Studies show that when students are able to identify a part of themselves in a piece of literature, they are happier, healthier, and better students. That’s where the Affirming Resource Library comes in!

The library provides students and parents across Iowa with FREE books that feature LGBTQ characters, themes or topics.

Every student, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity should have access to positive and supportive books they can relate to. Check out the resources we have by clicking the links below.
