Welcome to GSA Con!
GSA Con is our annual student leadership event designed to jumpstart your GSA or similar inclusion club.
GSA Con is Iowa’s statewide student leadership conference for LGBTQ and allied student leaders. This full-day event brings together middle and high school students from across the state for workshops, networking, and inspiration.
Students will gain practical skills through interactive sessions on topics like building strong group leadership, fundraising strategies, and leading effective meetings. The day will also feature a panel of GSA experts sharing real-world challenges, strategies, and successes.
This immersive program gives students the chance to “practice” leading and participating in a GSA. Each mock GSA will be guided by trained student leaders who walk participants through the full arc of a club. Students will set group culture, try out different types of meetings, and work together to create a tangible plan, replicating the experience of running a GSA from start to finish.
